Danceroom eV was founded in 2011 under the name BodyControl eV by dancers from the formation of the same name, together with Andreina Luna Stollmeier, in Beckum. The idea at the time was to find a separate space for Body Control so that they could develop their creativity and have their own home for their passion. In order to finance the room, individual courses were offered.
The demand and interest was unexpectedly high, so that a small street dance school quickly developed and the offspring emerged. The focus shifted and you had to grow quickly with the tasks.
Three years after its founding, in addition to an expanded range of courses, other formations emerged and the association changed its structure and was renamed Danceroom eV.
In the same year the Danceroom Streetdance Group came together; this consisted of Body Control and a formation from Paderborn to take part in the TV show "Got2Dance" by Pro7/SAT1. They reached the semi-finals and hip-hop enjoyed great popularity and fame in Beckum.
The danceroom was also visited and shaped by many hip-hop enthusiasts from Ahlen, so that in 2017 it was decided to also offer individual courses in Ahlen. Just like in Beckum, the response was and is great and the range of courses was expanded here too and then in 2018 the young people and the Ahlener formations found a home in Kleiwellenfeld :-)
The aim of the association is to continue to live street dance with all its facets and to inspire and motivate as many people interested in dancing as possible. Movement is important for people of all ages and dance is certainly one of the most beautiful forms of movement.

Our motivation
Health
We want to offer children and young people an alternative to game consoles and smartphones. In addition, reduce the non-ergonomic posture caused by constant sitting and generally eoffer something for your health.
social skills
Our trainers value team spirit and respect each other. Every good dance performance requires teamwork and discipline.
inclusion
It is particularly important to us that everyone has a place in society, regardless of skin color, religion, nationality, sexuality or disability.
compensation
Unfortunately, the general pressure to perform is a sign of our times and affects many children and young people equally. Dance and movement offer a good balance and strengthen self-confidence.
cohesion
Joint training, performances and events strengthen the sense of belonging. Sharing a common passion fosters social relationships. We always try to be familiar and sometimes we are already a small danceroom family :-)
Fun
With all these things, however, one thing is the most important thing: fun
BECK' 2 SHOW
Another successful concept is the "Beck' 2 Show" contest, which is held by the Danceroom.
In 2013, it was filled for the first time in the main office of Sparkasse Beckum. The subsequent contests were held in the Beckumer Stadttheater Filou.
At the Beck'2 Show, a well-known jury judges the participating groups and their performances. The focus is on the show aspect as the most important evaluation criterion.
